The Seven Chakra System
The seven chakras are the main energy centers in the human body, running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each chakra is a spinning wheel of energy that corresponds to specific physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our being.
The word "chakra" comes from Sanskrit and means "wheel" or "disk." When all seven chakras are balanced and open, energy flows freely through the body, promoting physical health, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth. Blocked or imbalanced chakras can lead to various physical and emotional issues.
The chakra system originated in India between 1500 and 500 BCE, with the Vedas being the first texts to introduce this profound knowledge. The system was later developed further in the Upanishads and Tantric traditions.
Key Insight: The seven chakras represent the journey from physical survival to spiritual enlightenment.
